Riot Games finally reached an agreement with an ongoing collective demand associated with salary and gender discrimination in the company. In 2018, women of Riot Games joined and submitted this demand against the company after numerous complaints of salary violations, gender discrimination and sexual harassment. Now, before the case came to trial, Riot agreed a $100 million agreement along with many other changes that will be carried out in the study.

From this agreement of $100 million that has been reached now, $80 million will end up being paid to women who worked at Riot Games as of November 2014 and will be extended to the present. The other $20 million will end up being paid as legal fees.

Speaking more about the changes that Riot has now agreed, the study has announced that a third party entity will now carry out routine inspections to ensure that the payment and other matters in the company are no longer unfair or discriminated against by gender. In addition, Riot will review its hiring process and, at the same time, it will be more transparent when it comes to general salaries in the company.

«This is a great day for women of Riot Games, and for women of all video game and technology companies, who deserve a workplace free of harassment and discrimination, said Gender Harrison attorney about the announcement of this agreement. We appreciate the introspection and work of Riot since 2018 to become a more diverse and inclusive company, its willingness to assume responsibility for its past and its commitment to justice and equality in the future. Together with DFE and ELSE, the brave women of Riot who led the torch of justice have achieved a result that it feels a precedent that is erected as a lighthouse for other women and as a warning that employers should pay better and treat the Women fairly, or otherwise, they must give accounts.

I am very proud to have worked with others in this resolution for the members of Riot's class, said Claimant Gina Cruz Rivera in an attached statement. For the rest of our industry, they continue talking and pressing for responsibility. His voice is important, and together we can make this industry more secure and inclusive for all.

Finally, Riot Games as a company issued the following statement on this:

Three years ago, Riot was in the center of what became an adjustment of accounts in our industry. We had to face the fact that, despite our best intentions, we had not always been up to our values. As a company, we were at a crossroads; We could deny the deficiencies of our culture, or we could apologize, correct the course and build a better Riot. We chose the last one. We are incredibly grateful to all the Rioters who have worked to create a culture where inclusion is the norm, where we are deeply committed to justice and equality, and where to embrace diversity feeds creativity and innovation.

While we are proud of how far we have arrived since 2018, we must also assume the responsibility of the past. We hope that this agreement adequately recognizes those who had negative experiences in Riot and demonstrate our desire to preach with the example to bring more responsibility and equality to the Games industry.
